You just hold the phone up to a wall to add it to the floor plan, and then the app takes the measurements for you. You can also manually add the measurements to make them more exact. Then, you can go back into the floor plan and add features such as doors and windows. This is invaluable for real estate professionals that need floor plans for their properties quickly.
  • Homesnap is an app for potential homeowners that allows them to take a picture of any home, anywhere, and find out the approximate value of the home, the square footage and number of rooms, and even information about what’s nearby. Homesnap can also identify homes that have potential as investments, and you can also connect your profile with friends that also use the app to see which homes they are looking at and share potential home profiles.

Lawrence Starkman – The Origins of Handball

Handball is a team sport where two teams of seven platers pass a ball using only their hands in hopes to score by getting the ball into the goal of the other team. The game has a rich history dating back to Roman times and is still played by people around the world today. Lawrence Starkman is an avid player and fan of handball.

Versions of handball date all the way back to Roman times when women would play a game called expulsim ludere. The game was also found in France during medieval times and among the Inuit of Greenland during the Middle Ages. By the 19th century the game had expanded to Denmark, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Germany.

The first written set of rules wasn’t published until 1906 by Holger Nielsen, a Danish lieutenant, Olympic medalist and gym teacher. The rules were changed to what is commonly used today on October 29, 1917 by Karl Schelenz, Max Heiser, and Erich Konigh from Germany. Karl later improved upon the rules slightly in 1918. Players from Germany and Belgium participated in the first set of international games for men in 1925 and women from Austria and Germany played against each other in 1930 for the first time.

The International Amateur Handball Federation was formed in 1928 after the Congress of the International Amateur Athletics Federation chose a committee to draw up official international rules for field handball in 1926. The International Handball Federation soon followed with its founding in 1946.

Lawrence Starkman is one of many fans and players of handball today.

Reading is a fun and relaxing hobby that is easy to start and can be low to no cost. You can rent many books at your local library or even find them online to read for free. And there are some books that are considered classic must-reads no matter your age, race, gender or social status. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is one such novel. A universally loved tale of passion between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice is able to capture the beautifully flawed side of humanity that only love could bring out. It is about overcoming differences of class and about learning to not only accept but laugh at an unfair set of circumstances and how difficult it can be to truly accept someone you love and whether that love is strong enough to withstand the pressures of outsides influences like class, social pressure and time.
